Brief Introduction in Toulouse Space Show 2014
My name is Makoto IKEDA. I am serving as a Researcher at Asian Disaster Reduction Center (ADRC) in Kobe, Japan. Over the course of my work, I have been involved in several international and domestic projects related to disaster education for school, disaster awareness research for residents and utilization of satellite images for Disaster Risk Reduction, untitled “Sentinel Asia” which was launched in 2006 in order to establish a disaster risk management system in Asia, using earth satellites. Utilization of space technology has a potential for saving life and property in disaster management field. I would like to introduce some of practices, lesson learn from the Great East Japan Earthquake, in this conference.
